Giulia Janssen

Guest Instructor - Modern/Contemporary
Giulia Janssen, was born in March 1991 in Schwelm, Germany. She was immersed in the world of theatre since early childhood through her parents; professional ballet dancer and instructor Constanze Janssen, and opera singer John Janssen. In 1993 she and her family moved to Montechiarugolo, Italy.
At three years old she started taking ballet lessons at her mother’s school “Pas de Chat” in Montecchio nell’Emilia. During the summer festival “Estate Estiva” as well as at the “Multisala Novecento” in Cavriago she performed the role of Marie in Tschaikowsky’s “Nutkracker”. At ten she expanded her ballet lessons at the school of Francesco Frola in Parma. At the “Arte Danza University” in Forlí she took part at the summer courses under the direction of Sèrge Manguette and Noemi Briganti.

In 2002 she and her family moved back to Germany. Since 2005 she appeared regularly with the dance company “Prima la Danza” under direction of her mother Constanze Janssen. In 2014 she started her studying dance pedagogy at the “Off-Theater NRW, Academy of Theatre, Dance and Culture” in Neuss, Germany .

Her teachers were a.o. Karla Richter (Rhythm and Dance-Alive); at the “Langen-Institut, Monheim” (Methodology, Didactics, Modern Expressive Dance); Max Daniel Joureau, independent choreographer (Laban Art of Movement); Othello Johns, soloist a.o. at the “Isodora Duncan Dance Company” (Contemporary). In March 2016 she completed her studies in Neuss with the diploma “State-certified Dance Pedagogue”.

Since 2015 she teaches classical ballet and modern dance at the “Ballettschule Renoldi” in Aachen, Germany.

During the MoveSpiration 2020 weekend Giulia will be teaching Modern/Contemporary classes on Friday and Saturday
